Technique Students will demonstrate mastery of a variety of technical skills on
their instrument including sound production, intonation, articulation, dynamics, phrasing, and interpretation in a performance.
Literacy Students will interpret musical symbols and vocabulary in order to realize pieces of music in a technically and aesthetically informed way.
Response Students will become successful listeners by identifying and analyzing what they hear and intellectually and emotionally value the musical interpretations of others.
Connections Students will develop a more mature understanding of and ability to empathize with the human condition through connecting themselves to
other contexts: histories, cultures and other academic disciplines, through music.
Performance Students will exemplify the qualities of a musician who consistently
engages in a positive and productive manner that acknowledges the
importance of the group over oneself.
